Angelica, young and beautiful daughter of the Doge, has not yet paid heed to her father’s desire for her marriage to some wealthy young man belonging to one of the town’s prominent families, purely for economic reasons.
Time is pressing, and the Doge leaves her no alternatives, either this or becoming a cloistered nun.
At a masked ball, just as everything seems lost, she meets the man that will make her fall hopelessly in love at first sight...

Giacomo Casanova, likewise young and handsome, for whom everything has become just an endlessly repetitive emotion, meets the damsel with whom he falls desperately in love at first sight, thus discovering his own vulnerability.
